Last updated: 29 October 2026
Our website, blacktreacle.uk, uses a small number of cookies. This policy explains what they are, why we use them and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work properly and show how it is being used.
Cookies we use
Our website is built and hosted on Squarespace, which sets the cookies below. We do not use advertising, social media or third-party tracking cookies.
| Type | What it does | Needs your consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Keeps the site secure, remembers your cookie choices and makes forms work properly | No |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Data is collected by Squarespace in aggregate and is not used to identify you | Yes |
Your consent
When you first visit our website, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site cannot work without them. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them.
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on our website.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working. Guidance for common browsers:
Google Chrome
Safari (Mac)
Safari (iPhone and iPad)

Microsoft Edge
Changes to this policy
If we add new tools to our website that use cookies, we will update this policy and the date at the top.
